thank you judy. we went there during the dry season and was rewarded with a very nice weather.
What a nice place to relax! ^__^
it is. pure escapade and only half an hour away by water taxi from kota kinabalu city.
Love the tree stumps!
thank you russel. 🙂
Love the colors here.
What’s next for you? Are you taking a break after your project?
Regards.
thank you pablo. i’m not sure about the direction, maybe posting a pic and babbling about what to do for the next 365 days? 🙂
That is just so idyllic. Love the horizontal split and of course the two tree stumps.
thanks david!
Those large tree trunks intrigue me. They are very close to the water. This can’t be saltwater. Either it is not or this is some unusual kind of big tree that I don’t see near saltwater. Very interesting shot with the tree trunks featured. I like it a lot.
thanks george, for your generous comments.
those trunks are casuarinas’ and they are indeed big enough to provide shades from the blazing sun, as seen here in pic 288 https://nitzus.com/2011/12/04/a-pic-a-day-day-288/
btw, this pic is taken facing south china sea. hope that you’ll find this brief explanation useful 🙂
cheers!
Yes, thank you. I knew I’d heard the name, Casuarina, before. When I checked Wikipedia, I was reminded of where I heard it. The Casaurina Tree” is the title of a Somerset Maugham book. The tree was used for erosion control so he uses it as a metaphor for the role of the English in Borneo and the Malay Penninsula. You’ve educated me with your lovely photographs! Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this for me!
What a gorgeous place to take a break! It’s nice to imagine being there, as I watch the cold rain falling from a gray sky here.
