soaking wet after a heavy rain at the end of the monsoon season, the four of us set out on a quest to find dinner where our mission collided with this lone zebra dove, symmetrically reflected in a puddle of rainwater while also foraging for food along kuching waterfront near the main bazaar. february 2011.

a pair of coconut palm trees acted as a perfect monumental gateway (while ignoring the meddling banana and papaya leaves at the edges of the frame) to the vast rice fields beyond. taken early morning facing west near the birthplace of my father in kg. padang kedondong, chengal in october 2007.

a kayaking duo was found dilligently pedalling back towards the estuary and the south china sea 2 km south while we were moving upstream. an idyllic 1½ hour eco tour along cherating river gave an exclusive insight into the habitats of the mangrove wilderness with special appearances by a slumbering python, edgy monitors and the docile but venomous banded kraits. although they semi-expertly camouflaged behind overhanging tree branches and leaves, the enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide made detection and sightings of those shy creatures easy. april 2011.

feral rock pigeons on wires demonstrating a capella singing without instrumental accompaniment through the acts of cooing and bobbing in a four part harmony. the mixed choir ensemble was taken with an industrial backdrop of a dilapidated rusty metal roof sheeting in july 2007 while driving on the never ending crawl along jalan segambut, kl.

a year after a pic a day (day 29) was taken, i went hiking again along the coastline of cherating beach in mid april 2011 and the contour had changed considerably where more dead trees were also discovered. this tree trunk, located 2 km north of impiana/suria resorts, near the estuary of pak siak river foresees another grim future for other vegetation along the stretch.

a completed 2 player boardgame, where a friend and i successfully stopped the incursions of four global epidemics from overwhelming the world. we took the roles of a medic and a researcher and cooperated to eradicate the virulent strains by beating the system and won the game at 3 in the morning, much to the chagrin of our significant others. pandemic, a 2-4 player 45 minutes cooperative game is one of my 106 boardgames and cardgames that i began to play collect actively since 2007 and played sparsely ever since. taken at cherengin hills resort lobby, janda baik in january 2011.
