a 132 kv electric power transmission creates a grid (within the national power grid) against the sky near jalan kuching in kuala lumpur. the pylon and its overhead power lines are an eyesore for landscape photography but once in a while you just have to make do with what you got. pic was taken using the new canon s95 looking towards southeast. august 2011.

after riding more than 4 km by tackling slopy track, hurting our butts on the hard rented bike seats, resting everytime we reached a hilltop and sweating profusely, we finally arrived at the endpoint more than half an hour later. luckily we were offered with a tranquil and resplendent view of sg. baru dam and its reservoir, complete with fish rearing pontoons for us to take funny steps on while being demonstrated the kind of fishes that they have by the park management staff. bukit cerakah agricultural park, july 2011.

a used to be virgin forest at colmar tropicale near bukit tinggi was levelled to make way for some rich people to squander their free time. thankfully the cirrus cloud juxtaposed against the blue sky were there to help elevate the depressing look into a dramatic landscape. august 2007.

strategizing in a game against an imaginary opponent is not an easy effort! the newly acquired the lord of the rings: the confrontation (deluxe edition) is a 2 player half an hour game that i set up just to get the feel and look of it but sadly devoid of any opponents (for the time being). and being a collector more than a player, i look forward to the time and place where i will be surrounded by zack, alif and yomi, all getting pumped up and deeply involved in the game, my 122nd, hopefully pretty soon. july 2011.

while looking for any living insects or reptiles near my parents’ home in ketereh, i found a creeping vine plant that was quite familiar. the stinky but edible ripe fruit of a passion flower, protected by its bract gave a creepy sight that seemed to be somehow the lovechild of the antagonist from the day of the triffids and a suicide bomber. december 2007.

vivid flower head from a cultivated sunflower found near allan’s water at fraser’s hill. the fiery bloom was lucidly in contrast with the blue sky as a backdrop though mildly spoiled by the intervening toothed leaf. december 2009.
