mt. sibayak, at 2,084m is the most easily accessed stratovolcano in indonesia, stands overlooking the town of berastagi and only 5km from where i captured this photo. mt. sinabung is only 15km southwest from this beast. december 2011.

just behind the mesmerising first look at lake toba, i was again highly impressed by sipisopiso waterfall, a 120m plunge waterfall (the highest in indonesia) from the karo plateau that flows to the lake. december 2011.
