in july 2011, 17 of my colleagues and i took the working day off and embarked on a memorable bicycle trip for a much needed break through the forest reserves at bukit cerakah near shah alam. this pic was captured from one of the watchtowers at the agricultural park looking south.

later today will be another historic day as more than 25 of us will venture out of our dull office-scape and hopefully achieve our target of having a fun and joyous day!

miniature versions of nitzus and zack acting terrified by the lurking unknowns near the entrance to the aptly named dark cave, a 2km network of caverns just below the temple cave, managed by the malaysian nature society and the largest of batu caves. september 2011.

a decent looking and moderate size sultan abu bakar mosque in raub, pahang on a clear day. completed in 2008, the mosque is quite hidden from the main trunk road and perches on a hill near the town hospital. september 2011.

a buddha statue lies deep inside cave villa, one of the series of caves at the base of batu caves, most of which contains hindu statues and cave paintings. in hinduism, he is regarded as one of the ten avatars of god vishnu, hence the statue inside a hindu shrine. september 2011.

the world’s tallest statue of murugan, a hindu deity, gold painted and standing at 42.5m high near the entrance to batu caves, a popular hindu shrines with a steep flight of 272 steps to reach the temple cave. september 2011.

the christ church and the stadthuys, built in the 18th and the 17th century during the dutch rule, are both listed as a unesco world heritage site in july 2008. the pic of the historical site at malacca city was captured in july 2009, successfully hiding an eyesore that is a telecommunication tower (again?) behind a decorative plant.
