the hills are alive with the sound of music! this is the closest location we have in malaysia for the movie’s sweeping aerial view opening sequence reenactment where a blady grass covered hill can be a substitute for the sprawling alpine meadow in the 1965 classic. located near the town of broga, broga hill, with 4 peaks ranging from 300m – 400m, became an instant fad for amateur hikers and photographers to spend their weekends. the serene morning view, unspoilt by other hikers was only achieved on a working day, an applied leave approved a few days prior. april 2010.

the modern cityscape of melbourne taken near princes bridge on the northern bank of yarra river towards the southbank precinct, with the arts centre and its 162m white spire on the far left, the round hamer hall in the centre and the almost 300m eureka tower with the highest vantage point in a building in the southern hemisphere. june 2010.

a 15 m tall statue of the monkey deity hanuman, located on the extreme left of batu caves, a limestone hill popular with hindu shrines, dedicated to lord murugan. taken in mid september 2011.

coconut twins teeter belligerently amidst the thunders and lightnings of the incoming storm. the onslaught subsided after an hour of heavy downpour and i let the kids and an adult (while supervising) built canals in the mud later. ketereh august 2011.
