on a crisp clear noon in march 2007, the hot sea breeze did not help at all to quench the anxious feeling of trying to blend in with the swarm of the predominant bajau and filipino sellers and shoppers at the unkempt and ever crowded semporna market, which lies adjacent to the wooden jetty facing the celebes sea. i abandoned the effort and opted to exit and subsequently circumnavigated the market outer perimeter and was rewarded with a spectacular view instead.

while taking a stroll along the low tide beach of telok assam, bako national park, i came across this lone male wild boar, foraging for food using his hardened snout while completely ignoring my presence. an understanding was silently agreed where he became my subject with countless poses while doing his routine acts.

sunday afternoon at mafeking square, bright in june 2010 was totally devoid of any human being, saved by the noisy cheeps of frolicking cockatoos on the trees nearby, the winter temperature dropped considerably as the sun began its descent. after driving more than 300km from tullamarine airport via hume freeway, i was presented with a desolate town as if the denizens were hiding to give us the moment to absorb all the splendid ambiance of the surroundings.
