newly transplanted rice fields at kampung tempoyak, ketereh, kelantan, like many other
fields in the kelantan river delta, is a lowland irrigation scheme pumped from the said river.

late afternoon in december 2010 at tanjung tuan lighthouse, melaka overlooking two distinctive cargo ships parting the malacca straits with some clearing of clouds to provide a harsh, bright lights and shadows. the golden tone was enhanced by setting the dslr white balance setting to shade.

megacity jakarta, lens exposed from the comfort of a cozy 17th floor ibis hotel room at mangga dua presented its grim cityscrapers while surrounded by sprawling highly densed low cost housings. the greenish hue was the result of haze, pollution and approaching dusk.

thanks to a borrowed canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens, i managed to capture this seemingly serene view of the newly renovated allan’s water, fraser’s hill in december 2009. the trees and shrubs helped frame it nicely.

it’s not everyday that you hear an association been made between jesus and hallucinogenic mushrooms but by googling those three words alone, you will get more than a million results. but that is another topic (or shall we say conspiracy) to tackle.
it’s even scarcer if those were included in a deeply personal lyrics of a man that went through mental illness, shock treatments, imprisonment and other harrowing life experiences.
he is one of the few artists that went unnoticed (from my personal radar) but once tasted, came with a bang. after repeat listens, now i’m one of the converted few. his raw music and emotions are making me gently weep with sad and joy. my 4 year old son frequent mumble hummings of “jesus met moses, drinking from a well…” sometimes are making me thinking of an eternal damnation in hell when i should expose him to the likes of maher zain et al, but what the hell……
